What is your role at Berger HR Solutions, and what does it involve?
As the Founder and President of Berger HR Solutions, I partner with business leaders to build strong, people-centered organizations. My role focuses on delivering practical, strategic HR solutions that drive performance, support company culture, and help clients navigate complex workplace challenges.
What experience do you bring to your role?
Before launching Berger HR Solutions in 2016, I spent over a decade in corporate HR, most recently as Vice President and Senior HR Business Partner at M&T Bank. There, I advised senior leaders across the Greater Washington Retail Market on aligning talent strategies with business goals. That experience revealed a growing need for high-impact HR support in smaller organizations – leading me to create a firm designed to meet that need.
How has your past experience shaped your approach to HR consulting?
I bring deep expertise in performance management, talent development, employee engagement, executive coaching, and full-cycle recruitment. I’m known for a collaborative approach, practical insights, and the ability to tailor solutions to each client’s unique needs. My work spans a wide range of industries, including finance, tech, healthcare, nonprofit, professional services, and construction.
What areas of HR are you most passionate about?
As a lifelong learner, I am passionate about staying ahead of workplace trends and business strategy. I enjoy helping leaders grow and creating environments where people feel supported and empowered.
What’s your educational background?
I hold a Master of Business Administration in Organization Development from Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor’s in Communications from Penn State. I’m also a Certified Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).
Who do you enjoy spending time with outside of work, and where do you call home?
I live in Howard County, Maryland with my husband, two daughters, and our Cavachon, Max. As a family, we love exploring museums, catching musicals, and traveling whenever we can.
What’s something people might be surprised to learn about you?
I was a drum major in high school. That experience helped shape my leadership style early on – balancing coordination, communication, and the ability to bring people together toward a shared goal.
What do you value outside of work?
My passion for people extends beyond the workplace. I am a strong advocate for mental health and well-being, especially when it comes to raising awareness of OCD, a cause that holds deep personal significance.
